Rugged Looking Leather

I use quality top grain leather in the construction of my moccasins. The main body of the boot is made from either American bison or bull hide. Bull hide makes a contemporary looking boot moccasin and there are many colors to choose from. American bison typically has a more varied grain pattern and makes a more rugged looking boot. Bison comes in fewer color selections. Either leather choice will last a long time with proper care.

Flexible, Durable Sole

The moccasin sole is made using a thin, durable rubber protection, keeping the moccasins flexible. This type of sole should last two or more years, depending on wear. The rubber soles can be resurfaced or patched by me, or I can provide instructions on how to do the repair. The inside of the foot bed is lined with sheep fleece which gives a soft and comfortable fit.

Thank you for your interest!!!

These leather boot moccasins are one of a kind. They can be made according to your own unique personality, design and specifications, consistent with the following guidelines. They are a great choice for practical, protective footwear when walking, hiking, or for a special occasion where eye-catching costuming and dress-up is required.

Trim

As part of the basic moccasin, I can finish the upper top edge with piping of deer or deer tanned leather.

For full piping down the button side of the boot, see pricing. Other choices for finishing the top edge are cuffs or fringe, please see pricing.

Reinforcement

As part of the main construction I reinforce the front inside of the moccasin with deer or deer tanned leather. This piece has several purposes; one to reinforce the buttons, another, to help support the wearer’s arch. A third is if a beaded medallion is chosen, the second layer helps protect stitching on the inner side of the beading.

How to obtain a pair of Moccasin Lady leather boots

I will need to take measurements and a tracing of your foot to make a custom pair of moccasins. You can call or email me for a fitting.

Delivery time

These are custom made moccasins. You should allow up to 2 months from fit until delivery.

Moccasin care

These moccasins are made from high quality top grain leathers. If proper care is taken, they should last 10-15 years.

Allow your moccasins to dry between wearings.

Treat your moccasins with mink oil or a quality waterproofing as often as needed. The moccasin color will darken when oiled.

When the moccasins are dirty, they can be washed with a non-detergent soap and soft brush or cloth. I suggest putting the moccasins on and wiping or brushing off dirt, and then rinsing them with warm clean water and hanging them in a warm spot to dry. Do not dry your moccasins in the sun or too near a woodstove.

After drying, I suggest using mink oil or a quality waterproofing material.

I hand cut the laces from the same type leather as the boots. The lace color can match the boot or be a contrasting color.
